ShakeSoc ANU Welcomes You
About Us
ShakeSoc ANU was founded in 2019 to appreciate and perform Shakespearean theatre at the ANU.
Since then we’ve grown as a community, and have expanded what we offer to our members. When you decide to join us, you too will gain access to various events, cheaper show tickets, and, most importantly, to a group of lovely theatre kids!

2025 Season
This theme explores the power of the past, of storytelling, and of literature, in informing the present and the future.
The themes in Shakespeare's work are universal and relevant across time, and we can use the knowledge acquired from studying the plays to inform the present and carry that through into the future.
Acknowledgment of Country
ShakeSoc is privileged to rehearse and perform on the stolen lands of the Ngunnawal & Ngambri people. ShakeSoc recognises that First Nations peoples' cultures represent the oldest form of storytelling in Australia. It is an honour to continue this practice on their lands. Sovereignty was never ceded.
This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
